Vancouver International Airport (YVR) is located on Sea Island just south of Vancouver between the Middle and North Arms of the Fraser River. It is a 25 minute car ride from the downtown core (in regular daytime traffic), one of the closest major airports to any downtown anywhere.

It is also close to highway connections south to Seattle and west to New West/Surrey and the Fraser Valley.

New airport construction has turned the airport into an attraction with spacious stimulating architecture, a major hotel as part of the terminals, shops, services and food & beverage outlets. YVR has won international prizes for its class and size.
