Ballantyne Pier was the primary cruise ship terminal prior to the construction of Canada Place. It is now the secondary cruise ship terminal used mainly for vessels that need to stay more than one day or for the ones that on any given day cannot be accomodated at Canada Place. During the course of the year Ballantyne Pier also serves freighters handling container traffic.
